In a significant demonstration in Patna on Wednesday, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) led a protest opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which they condemned as an illegal imposition on Muslim rights. Protesters traveled from across Bihar and other regions to voice their disapproval.

Participants alleged government attempts to unlawfully seize properties dedicated for public welfare through the bill. They criticized the government's hurried actions, claiming the bill serves those opposing Waqf interests. Controversy arose around statements from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to which protesters responded by accusing the government of facilitating the sale of Waqf land.

The protest also saw involvement from prominent political figures like RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who supported the protestors' stance against the bill. Meanwhile, BJP leader Jagadambika Pal accused AIMPLB of politicizing the matter, asserting the proposed law, designed to enhance transparency and reclaim properties, hadn't yet been enacted.
