BJP legislator Pravin Darekar has taken a stern step by filing a breach of privilege notice against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra and Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sushma Andhare. This action comes as a response to derogatory comments made against Maharashtra's political figures.
Darekar highlighted Kamra's performance, which included personal attacks on deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Andhare is accused of not only supporting the performance but also using objectionable language, which Darekar claims amounts to contempt of the House. Both individuals are said to have undermined the dignity of legislative institutions.
Adding to this, Shiv Sena MLA Ramesh Bornare has also filed a breach of privilege notice against Andhare for allegedly mocking Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Presiding officer Sanjay Kelkar indicated that Speaker Rahul Narwekar will decide on the notices.
