On Wednesday, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta found her convoy momentarily stranded on the Haiderpur flyover due to stray cattle blocking the road. Demonstrating concern, Gupta stepped out of her vehicle to ensure the animals' safety.

Security personnel soon intervened, efficiently moving the cattle aside. Following the incident, a Chief Minister's Office official disclosed that Gupta had already sanctioned a substantial budget to tackle such issues.

Ahead of this event, during the annual budget presentation, Gupta had allocated Rs 40 crore for a 'Model Gaushala' aimed at improving cattle care. The shelter in Ghumanhera village will focus on cow protection, milk production enhancement, and veterinary care.
