In a significant political development, the Opposition in Maharashtra's legislative council has retracted its no-confidence motion against Chairman Ram Shinde. The motion was originally filed on March 19 over concerns of unfair treatment.

Opposition leader and Shiv Sena (UBT) legislator Ambadas Danve formally withdrew the motion through a letter addressed to the chairman's office on Thursday. The withdrawal followed an assurance meeting held on March 21 with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The meeting culminated in a promise of equitable treatment for all legislators in the Upper House, prompting the Opposition to rescind its motion. This move indicates a potential easing of tensions within the legislative body.
