In a vehement critique on Wednesday, Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lallu targeted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for allegedly prioritizing Hindu-Muslim narratives over substantive governance. Lallu, speaking from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, challenged the development record of Adityanath's eight-year governance.
Lallu, a former Uttar Pradesh Assembly MLA, claimed the state tops national crime statistics, especially crimes against women, citing NCRB data. He highlighted rising unemployment and ongoing protests by primary school teachers, pointing to perceived governmental inaction on these fronts.
Further criticizing Adityanath, Lallu alleged a reluctance in addressing BJP's own shortcomings, highlighting women's issues in Odisha under BJP rule. This followed CM Adityanath's remarks on communal harmony in UP, where he suggested Muslims are safest among Hindu communities, citing historical geopolitical examples to justify his views.
