Shambhuraj Desai, a minister in the Maharashtra government, stated firmly in the state assembly that no one found guilty will escape justice.

Salian, who was previously associated as a manager with late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died under mysterious circumstances in June 2020. Her father, Satish Salian, has lodged a complaint alleging Thackeray's involvement. The state's assembly witnessed intense debates, with some treasury members demanding Thackeray's resignation.

As the controversy unfolds, Desai committed to reviewing a report from the Mumbai police to facilitate the work of a Special Investigation Team examining the case. Meanwhile, Salian's family has approached the Bombay High Court, pushing for a renewed investigation and the registration of an FIR against those implicated.
