In a blistering attack, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao has lambasted the Congress party for attributing political motives to the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) raid on the residence of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Sao categorically stated that the CBI's actions form part of an ongoing investigation and dismissed any claims of political interference, citing the agency's independence.

Sao intensified his criticism by highlighting the corruption scandals that allegedly marred Baghel's tenure, insisting that the raids are a continuation of efforts to unravel the 'big corruptions' from that period. The Deputy CM pointed out that with over 50 locations in Chhattisgarh being raided, involving various officials and leaders, the CBI's action transcends allegations against just a single individual and detracts from political narratives.

Meanwhile, the probe has extended into accusations involving a multi-crore liquor scam and the Mahadev betting app, strengthening the narrative of a deep-rooted financial racket alleged to have amassed substantial illegal income. These developments unfold as Baghel coincidentally prepares to attend an important Congress meeting in Delhi, underscoring the tense political climate as scrutiny sharpens around him.
