On Wednesday, Congress MP Manish Tewari introduced an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha, aiming to halt the House's regular business to address pressing issues concerning alleged irregularities in the higher judiciary. He highlighted that these allegations have alarmed the legal community and citizens nationwide.

Tewari emphasized in his notice the public importance of discussing these alleged judicial aberrations and urged postponing Zero Hour and other scheduled activities. By drawing attention to the judiciary's role as a pillar of democracy, he underlined the necessity of a parliamentary debate on this matter of national importance.

Stressing the gravity of the situation, Tewari called for the government to present a detailed statement in parliament regarding these incidents. He argued that such a discourse is essential, given the questions raised about the judiciary's integrity and impartiality, following allegations of cash being found at a Delhi High Court judge's residence. Furthermore, he insisted on the Law Minister's accountability to the House, threatening constitutional impropriety if no statement is made.
