In a sharp rebuke over the three-language policy dispute, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin of indulging in 'narrow politics.' During an interview with ANI, Adityanath alleged that Stalin's political strategies were attempting to create divisions based on regional and linguistic lines to secure his vote bank.
Adityanath pointed out the importance of language as a unifying factor and highlighted the historical significance of Tamil as one of India's oldest languages, equating its heritage to that of Sanskrit. He questioned the opposition to Hindi in Tamil Nadu and lauded the efforts of Prime Minister Modi in promoting cultural unity through initiatives like the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam.
The Uttar Pradesh CM advocated for a broader perspective, suggesting that if southern languages could be taught in Uttar Pradesh, Hindi should be embraced in Tamil Nadu. He dismissed Stalin's delimitation concerns as a political agenda and urged vigilance against divisive politics that threaten national unity, especially within the context of the National Education Policy 2020.
