In a stinging rebuke, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as a 'namuna' and accused his party of keeping the Ayodhya controversy alive. During an interview with ANI, Adityanath questioned the Congress's contributions over the past ten decades.
Adityanath asked why the Congress did not undertake initiatives such as abolishing triple talaq or promoting the Kumbh with grandeur. He argued that under Prime Minister Modi, visions such as a new Ayodhya and the construction of the Ram Mandir are being realized. The Chief Minister disparaged Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' as a 'Bharat Todo Abhiyan', suggesting that Gandhi's criticisms of India beyond its borders indicated his adversarial intentions.
Adityanath further criticized Congress ally and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, taking issue with Yadav's previous praise of Jinnah. He asserted that those who idolize figures like Aurangzeb and Babar lack true allegiance to India's legacy and heritage. The Chief Minister juxtaposed these figures with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, emphasizing the contrast in values and loyalty.
