In a decisive move on Tuesday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed squarely at the law firm Jenner & Block. The White House alleges that the firm has engaged in weaponizing the government and legal system for political gains.
Will Scharf, the White House Staff Secretary, stated that the administration has targeted several law firms involved in similar endeavors of weaponizing legal frameworks for political ends or other inappropriate activities.
"The law firm of Jenner & Block is one of these law firms," Scharf declared, as he presented the executive order to President Trump in the Oval Office.
