In a pivotal meeting, the Delhi Assembly on Wednesday engaged in significant debates on vital issues, notably the Annual Budget for 2025-26. Discussions also encompassed a proposal to bolster MLA support staff and a review of the Delhi Transport Corporation's audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). Chief Minister Rekha Gupta tabled the Finance and Appropriation Accounts for 2021-22 and 2022-23.

According to the List of Business (LoB), CM Rekha Gupta placed the Finance and Appropriation Accounts for the years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 on the floor of the House. Furthermore, member Surya Prakash Khatri proposed a motion to increase Data Entry Operators for each MLA from two to four, with enhanced remuneration under the Minimum Wages Act, reflecting a strategic move to facilitate efficient official functioning.

Continuing focus on the Delhi Transport Corporation, deliberations persisted on the CAG's Performance Audit Report, shedding light on the corporation's functioning under the government of NCT of Delhi, marking an effort to enhance transparency and accountability in public transport services.

Earlier, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled the 2025-26 Budget, describing it as 'historic' with a total allocation of Rs 1 lakh crores. Emphasizing transformation, the budget aims to uplift Delhi's economy and infrastructure, allocating Rs 5,100 crores to the Mahila Samridhi Yojana and Rs 28,000 crores for capital projects to enhance connectivity with the NCR region.
