India and China have reached a consensus to collaboratively prepare for the upcoming Special Representatives meeting to address boundary issues, which is slated to occur in New Delhi later this year. This decision was established during the latest round of discussions in Beijing, under the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs framework.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported that the session was conducted in a "positive and constructive atmosphere". Both nations comprehensively reviewed the Line of Actual Control's current circumstances and pledged to work diligently to ensure productive talks in the future meeting.

The MEA highlighted that peace on the border is vital for bilateral relations, emphasizing the exploration of measures for effective border management. Discussions also included resuming cross-border collaborations, like trans-border river projects and the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra. The Indian delegation was spearheaded by Gourangalal Das, while Hong Liang led the Chinese delegation.
