Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has accused opposition party leaders from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) of orchestrating a 'conspiracy' against his cabinet colleague Jaykumar Gore. This accusation emerged during a state assembly session responding to a motion by the opposition.
Fadnavis highlighted evidence of communication between NCP leaders Supriya Sule, Rohit Pawar, and an accused in the case involving an alleged extortion attempt on Gore. The woman involved was arrested after demanding Rs 3 crore to resolve harassment allegations against Gore, of which she accepted Rs 1 crore.
Despite calls for Gore's resignation over the harassment charges, Fadnavis pointed out that Gore was acquitted in 2019. The CM emphasized the need for further investigation and criticized the opposition for resorting to political maneuvering, not fostering bipartisan cooperation.
