In a notable ideological shift, Shahid Saleem, the former Hurriyat Conference leader, along with the Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement (JKPM), has officially distanced himself from separatist ideologies, pledging unwavering allegiance to India and its Constitution.
Saleem, in a statement to the vernacular press, declared his loyalty to India, asserting that neither he nor his organization harbors any affinity towards the separatist ideology of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), which he claims, has failed to address the genuine aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir's populace.
He emphasized the independence of JKPM from any groups with agendas counter to India's interests and made clear that any misrepresentation of his or JKPM's affiliations with separatist factions will be met with legal repercussions.
