The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its attack on Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, citing explosive claims in a book by journalist Chitra Subramaniam. The BJP alleges the book reveals troubling connections between the Gandhis and the late Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, who allegedly influenced defense deals in India.

BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia highlighted assertions from Subramaniam's book, 'Bofors Gate,' as evidence of Quattrocchi's undue influence during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure as Prime Minister. He claims the businessman's ties to the Gandhis were instrumental in manipulating defense agreements to benefit selected companies.

The party is demanding that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi resign from their parliamentary positions until they disclose their family's relationship with Quattrocchi. The Congress party has not yet responded to these allegations, while Bhatia also raised concerns about a separate legal issue involving Justice Yashwant Varma, stressing the need for strict adherence to the law.
