A popular Youtuber and outspoken critic of the ruling DMK, Savukku Shankar, faced an attack on his residence on Monday when a group allegedly dumped sewage and human faeces inside his home.
Political leaders, including AIADMK's Edappadi K Palaniswami and BJP Tamil Nadu President K Annamalai, condemned the act and demanded stringent action against those responsible. Police say investigations are underway, and appropriate action will be taken based on a complaint which details a 20-member group forcibly entering Shankar's home.
Shankar shared CCTV footage on social media depicting the attack and accused a top Tamil Nadu Congress Committee leader and a senior police official of being complicit. Shankar, facing pressure to halt his media activities, emphasized the threats to his safety following his exposés against alleged government corruption.
