President of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, criticized the main opposition's protests on Monday, labeling them as a 'movement of violence' after Istanbul's mayor was jailed.

In a statement post-cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan attributed the responsibility for damages and police injuries during the protests to the main opposition CHP.

He further criticized their demonstrations as merely a 'show' destined to conclude with them feeling remorse for the perceived damage done to the nation.
