Congress leader Shashi Tharoor extended his congratulations to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the newly appointed Kerala unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Tharoor, who recently emerged victorious in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections against Chandrasekhar in the Thiruvananthapuram constituency, acknowledged his political rival's fresh role.
Posting on 'X', Tharoor conveyed his readiness to engage in forthcoming political contests and praised Chandrasekhar's milestone. Chandrasekhar officially assumed office as the BJP's state president on Monday, pledging to enhance the party's influence and bring the NDA government to Kerala.
Despite the state being a stronghold for the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), Chandrasekhar's prior election performance marked the NDA's best in the region.
