In a pointed critique, Atishi, the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, lambasted the BJP-led city government for bypassing the traditional presentation of the Economic Survey ahead of the budget. She accused the authorities of undermining transparency by neglecting to release the survey, which customarily offers pivotal insights into economic metrics such as GDP, per capita income, and tax revenue.

At a press briefing, Atishi questioned the government's decision-making process, suggesting that formulating a budget without the foundational data provided by an Economic Survey raises significant doubts about the administration's competency. She emphasized that previous surveys under the AAP government had routinely furnished critical economic data, reinforcing their necessity.

Atishi further alleged an attempt to stifle discussion on the issue within the assembly, as AAP members faced resistance to raising their concerns about the missing survey. With the first budget announcement of the newly elected government on the horizon, she called into question the transparency of the budgeting process without the survey's publicly accessible economic benchmarks.
