BJD MP Sasmit Patra has voiced serious concerns regarding the disruptions in Parliament on Monday. He insists that contentious issues must be addressed through discussion and deliberation, not disruption. His statements followed the adjournment of Parliament due to disagreements over Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's alleged remarks on the Constitution.

Patra declared that regardless of how contentious or divisive issues may be, they need to be tackled head-on within a forum of dialogue and resolution. He underscored the necessity of abiding by the country's rules and constitutional provisions. Meanwhile, a sharp debate unfolded in the Rajya Sabha over Karnataka's reservation policy, prompting BJP leader JP Nadda to demand a reversal of the law and an explanation from Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

Nadda accused Congress of failing to uphold the Constitution, opposing the Karnataka government's alleged move to offer 4 percent reservation to minorities in contracts. His remarks were strongly contested by the Opposition, leading Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar to request Nadda to verify his statements with evidence.

The controversy escalated as Nadda affirmed the claim that Karnataka's government approved the reservation policy, igniting further conflict. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge countered by asserting their commitment to protect the Constitution, referencing their 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' as proof.

Kharge accused the government faction of attempting to divide the country, a statement rebuffed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju who asserted the authenticity of the quotes from Congress's own Deputy Chief Minister. DK Shivakumar defended his stance, accusing the BJP of circulating misinformation and affirmed Congress's foundational role in establishing the nation's Constitution.
