The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh has issued a notice to Chintamani Malviya, a party legislator, over his public criticism of the state government's land acquisition process for the 2028 Simhastha fair.
State BJP chief V D Sharma, at the behest of national president JP Nadda, sought Malviya's explanation, stating that his actions could harm the party's image. In response, Malviya claimed he had not criticised the government but merely presented factual information.
Meanwhile, the Congress has supported Malviya, questioning the land acquisition procedure and suggesting that Madhya Pradesh's government is suppressing opposition from Dalit representatives like Malviya.
