In a fiery address to the assembly, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday challenged the widely accepted notion of economic progress in Bihar, equating the strides made during his party's governance to those under the NDA's rule.

Yadav compared the state's budget growth from Rs 3,000 crore in 1990, when his father Lalu Prasad assumed office, to Rs 28,000 crore in 2005, just before the RJD was ousted. Since 2005, when Nitish Kumar became chief minister, the budget has expanded to Rs 2.78 lakh crore.

Despite this growth, Yadav criticized the current administration for Bihar's ranking in development indices and accused the central government of neglect, highlighting financial difficulties, rising debt, and unpaid state salaries.
