The state election commission's final tally placed the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) in a distant second with control over 12 councils, while the Mizo National Front (MNF) won eight. Notably, the Congress did not achieve a majority in any council, and independent candidates claimed victory in two.

Polling occurred on Wednesday with a voter turnout of an impressive 86.97 percent. Of the 516 seats available, 88 were reserved for women, with the BJP claiming victory in 366 seats. The party expressed gratitude to voters and pledged to advance regional development.
