Ecuador's Indigenous Groups Split Ahead of Presidential Runoff
Ecuador's major Indigenous organization, CONAIE, has decided not to endorse incumbent Daniel Noboa in the upcoming presidential runoff. Instead, they have requested responses from the leftist candidate Luisa Gonzalez to their set of proposals. The Indigenous vote remains split, with some backing Noboa.

In Ecuador, the influential Indigenous group CONAIE announced on Wednesday its decision not to support the current president, Daniel Noboa, in the forthcoming April runoff election.
Instead, CONAIE has reached out to leftist candidate Luisa Gonzalez, asking for her stance on a series of proposals that the organization finds crucial.
Notably, the Indigenous vote in Ecuador is not monolithic, as various groups have expressed their intention to support Noboa, highlighting a division within the community.
