Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar announced on Wednesday that Faridabad voters have purged the municipal corporation of Congress influence, showcasing their preference for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following successes in multiple wards across Haryana.

Terming the win 'historic,' Gurjar credited the BJP's triumph to the effective governance of the Nayab Singh Saini-led administration, expressing appreciation for the unwavering support from the state's urban electorate.

The BJP's dominance in local body elections saw candidates secure mayoral positions in nine cities, including Faridabad, amid promises to tackle civic issues such as water and sanitation, as highlighted by Parveen Joshi, the city's Mayor-elect.
