Estonia's Political Shake-up: Reform Party Expels Social Democrats
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has decided to expel the Social Democratic Party from the government due to a tax disagreement. Michal emphasized the need for decisive actions for Estonia's progress. The Reform Party, along with Estonia 200, now holds a narrow majority in the country's parliament.
In a significant political move, Estonia's Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced the expulsion of the Social Democratic Party from the government on Monday. The expulsion stemmed from a disagreement over tax policies, leaving Michal with a slim parliamentary majority.
Michal, representing the Reform Party, expressed his position during a press conference, asserting that constant returns to foundational decisions slow the country's progress. He emphasized the urgency of making decisive choices for Estonia to advance.
Despite the exit of the Social Democrats, the Reform Party, along with coalition partner Estonia 200, will retain governance, holding 52 out of the 101 seats in parliament. This political reshuffle points to a challenging yet crucial phase in Estonia's government operations.
