Union Home Minister Amit Shah's recent assurances that southern states will not lose any parliamentary representation due to the delimitation process have drawn sharp criticism from Telangana's ruling and opposition parties.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and other political leaders have urged the Centre to conduct thorough consultations with all states before proceeding with the exercise to address their concerns.

K T Rama Rao of the BRS termed the population-based delimitation as "unjust" and highlighted the south's substantial contributions to India's economy despite a smaller population, arguing that this should be considered in representation determinations.
