Maharashtra Deputy CM Hails Mahakumbh, Vows Justice in Pune Rape Case

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde lauded the organizational prowess of the Uttar Pradesh government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the 2025 Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Over 65 crore devotees attended the event, marking a significant achievement in coordination and planning. Shinde extended gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support.
During his visit to Mahakumbh, Shinde participated in the sacred rituals, taking a holy dip in the Sangam with his family. The event officially concluded on February 26 after several important bathing days, including the Amrit Snan, which had commenced on January 13.
On a different note, Shinde addressed the distressing Pune rape incident, asserting that the perpetrator would face severe consequences. Police have identified the suspect as Dattatray Ramdas Gade and ramped up efforts to capture him. The Pune City Police announced a Rs one lakh reward as they intensify the manhunt, deploying numerous teams across and beyond the district.
