Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday launched a scathing attack on the opposition RJD-Congress alliance, accusing them of failing to prevent communal unrest despite appealing for Muslim support.
Speaking at a function attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan in Bhagalpur, a site of devastating communal riots in 1989, Kumar highlighted improvements in law and order since his governance began in 2005.
Kumar thanked the Prime Minister for the financial assistance from the Union government, acknowledging the significant budget increases for Bihar and expressing optimism about future state progress under Modi's leadership.
