In a blistering critique aimed at Arvind Kejriwal, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor for extravagant expenses on the 'Sheesh Mahal' during the COVID-19 pandemic. Poonawalla accused Kejriwal of focusing on building his residence while Delhi residents struggled for oxygen and food.
The controversy was further ignited by a Comptroller and Auditor General report indicating a massive Rs 33.66 crore spent on renovations for the Chief Minister's residence. Poonawalla suggested opening the 'Sheesh Mahal' to the public to generate revenue in light of Delhi's impending revenue deficit under Kejriwal's tenure.
Adding to the drama, BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan lambasted Kejriwal, charging him with betraying Delhi by derailing governance and facilitating corruption. Kesavan expressed hope that the upcoming assembly elections will see BJP voters ousting AAP, marking an end to what he described as a 'decade of disaster.'
