The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest on Saturday, urging the resignation of Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge following the tragic suicide of a civil contractor from Bidar. This demonstration, led by BJP State President B Y Vijayendra, focused on holding the Minister accountable amid allegations.
The protest saw a significant turnout, with saffron party leaders gathering at Jagat Circle, waving placards and chanting slogans against Kharge. The Minister countered the BJP's plan to besiege his residence by providing refreshments for the protesters, while police maintained order to prevent any incidents.
Amidst mounting pressure, Kharge firmly stated his resistance against BJP's demands, highlighting cases against BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa. The BJP remains adamant about a CBI investigation into the incident, following claims in the contractor’s suicide note implicating Kharge’s close aide.
