In a fierce political exchange, Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar charged the BJP-led central government with either deliberately harboring infiltrators or failing to protect the country's borders. Kakkar's comments sparked further controversy surrounding national security practices.
The dispute was echoed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who accused the Border Security Force of aiding militants and infiltrators from Bangladesh in entering the state. Speaking at the State Administrative Review Meeting in Kolkata, Banerjee threatened protests if such activities continued, placing direct blame on central authorities.
However, the situation took another turn as Defence Expert Captain Anil Gaur accused Banerjee herself of facilitating illegal infiltrators into India, thereby intensifying the complex debate. He suggested that her accusations against the BSF were politically motivated to appease her voter base, highlighting the intricate dynamics of regional and national security policy considerations.
