Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal issued a strong condemnation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday for derogatory language directed at Kerala. In a post on platform X, Venugopal lashed out at BJP officials for branding the state as 'Mini Pakistan', interpreting it as an indication of the party's entrenched hostility towards the Keralite populace.
Venugopal stressed that such inflammatory remarks from the BJP's ranks undermine Kerala's reputation as a globally celebrated model of human development, featuring commendable educational, healthcare, and living standards. 'Kerala stands as a testament to communal harmony, where diverse religious and sectarian communities have coexisted peacefully for generations,' he declared on X.
Highlighting Kerala's illustrious history of social reform, Venugopal cited eminent personalities like Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Ayyankali, who championed inclusivity and egalitarianism. He indicted the BJP for ignoring these foundational values. Further, Venugopal urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take immediate disciplinary action against BJP leader Rane for his divisive comment, underscoring that Kerala does not align with the BJP's divisive ideology.
