Bangladesh's Interim Government to Announce 'Proclamation of July Uprising'
The Bangladesh interim government plans to draft a 'Proclamation of July Uprising' after disassociating from a similar student-led effort. It's intended to reflect unity and aspirations born from recent political upheaval. Key groups, including the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, are involved. Meanwhile, opposition figures continue to debate constitutional significance.

The interim government in Bangladesh is rumored to be preparing a 'Proclamation of July Uprising,' a day after stepping away from a student-driven declaration. Led by the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, this previous proclamation significantly contributed to the removal of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back in August.
Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to Bangladesh's interim government chief adviser Muhammad Yunus, announced their intentions for the new proclamation. He assured that it would be developed with consensus from students, political parties, and other stakeholders, emphasizing the July uprising's spirit of unity and reform.
The initiative has stirred both interest and controversy. The Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, initially planning its announcement, opted instead for a 'march for unity.' Opposing figures in politics have criticized the denouncement of the 1972 constitution, seeing these calls for its burial as extremist. Despite political upheavals, the Awami League remains largely silent post-ousting.
