Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane has ignited significant controversy by describing Kerala as a 'mini Pakistan' and accusing terrorists of supporting Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. This has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties, who labeled his remarks as divisive and harmful to Maharashtra's reputation.
At a recent rally in Pune, Rane maintained his stance, arguing that Kerala remains part of India but highlighting issues of religious conversions and 'love jihad.' He compared the situation in Kerala with the treatment of Hindus in Pakistan, asserting his duty to protect Hindu interests.
The Maharashtra Congress, questioning Rane's position in the cabinet, demanded accountability from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They highlighted rising communal tensions in Maharashtra, alongside economic disparities between BJP and non-BJP-ruled states.
