During farmer protests at Shambhu border, a 57-year-old farmer succumbed after consuming a poisonous substance. As reported by farmer leaders, Ranjodh Singh was heavily distressed.
Singh, a resident of Ratanheri village, Ludhiana, took the extreme step amidst concerns over the declining health of Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been fasting since late November.
The protests, led by organizations like Samyukta Kisan Morcha, press for legal MSP guarantees and continue at Shambhu and Khanauri borders, reinforced by Singh's tragic demise.
