In a tragic incident at Bikaner's Mahajan field firing range, two soldiers were killed, and one was injured during a training exercise on Wednesday. The mishap occurred as the soldiers were loading ammunition into a tank, resulting in a sudden explosion, a defense spokesperson confirmed.
According to Circle Officer Narendra Kumar Poonia, the soldiers, Ashutosh Mishra and Jitendra, died from the explosion, while the injured soldier was swiftly airlifted to Chandigarh for medical attention. The exercise, designed for routine training, turned fatal, prompting an immediate response from local police.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, which has raised concerns about safety protocols during military training operations. The incident highlights the inherent risks involved in such exercises, emphasizing the need for stringent safety measures.
