Voter turnout soared in Assam's assembly bypolls, with nearly 76% of the 9.1 lakh electors casting their votes, according to official figures released on Thursday.
The Election Commission reported that 75.67% of the eligible voters participated, including a notable number of women and third-gender individuals, marking a significant electoral event.
Despite reported violence in Samaguri and Behali, authorities ensured security with the deployment of 15 companies of Central Armed Police Forces, contributing to a largely successful election day.
