Controversy has ignited in Jharkhand following a statement by Congress' Ghulam Ahmed Mir, promising discounted LPG cylinders at Rs 450 to 'infiltrators.' Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday voiced concern over the promise, urging residents to guard the state against perceived threats.
Adding to the growing political tension, BJP National spokesperson CR Kesavan slammed the Congress, sharing a video on social media highlighting Mir's statement. Kesavan accused the party of engaging in religious appeasement and polarization politics.
Ghulam Ahmed Mir further fueled the debate with his pledge to offer inexpensive gas cylinders to everyone, including 'infiltrators,' upon forming the government. This rhetoric has drawn stark criticism from BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who lambasted the Hemant Soren-led administration for alleged corruption and enabling illegal immigration.
