In the wake of the first phase of Jharkhand's assembly elections, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav expressed confidence in the formation of a new state government led by Hemant Soren. Yadav, who spoke to ANI, firmly believes that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on the losing side.

Assam Chief Minister and BJP's co-in-charge for Jharkhand, Himanta Biswa Sarma, launched a scathing attack on the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Sarma accused JMM, under Chief Minister Hemant Soren, of trapping the state in poverty, contrasting it with BJP's well-thought-out election manifesto, created after extensive consultations.

With a voter turnout of 64.86% in the first phase, higher than the 2019 elections, the BJP-led NDA is striving to dethrone the JMM-led coalition. Key political figures, including Hemant Soren and other leaders across parties, remain in the contest, with the next phase set for November 20 and vote counting on November 23.
