Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra has issued a challenge to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, demanding evidence to back up the latter's claim that Rs 50 crore bribes were offered to 50 Congress MLAs to topple the government.
Vijayendra asserted that Siddaramaiah's accusations demonstrate a lack of trust in his own party and criticized him for making false statements without proof. He warned that public credibility is at stake if such serious allegations remain unsubstantiated.
Calling for investigative intervention, Vijayendra suggested that the Directorate of Enforcement should proactively conduct a probe into the matter. Siddaramaiah, however, refrained from commenting on the challenge, questioning the relevance of discussing someone relatively new to politics.
