Displaying optimism for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance's potential success. Venugopal stated on Thursday that preparations are proceeding smoothly, with the alliance well-positioned to secure a victory in the state.
The elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. In the previous 2019 assembly elections, the BJP secured 105 seats, while Congress obtained 44. Reflecting on past results, allies including Shiv Sena with 56 seats, bolster the MVA's vigour this time around.
Responding to divisive rhetoric from Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath during a Maharashtra campaign rally, Venugopal emphasized the Congress party's commitment to love and unity over hate. The Congress condemned attempts to sow division, asserting that governance should focus on benefiting impoverished communities rather than inciting discord.
