In the run-up to the Maharashtra assembly elections, Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil has intensified his criticism of the BJP, accusing them of neglecting the Maratha community's demand for OBC reservations. He believes the lack of support for Marathas will lead to significant repercussions for the party at the polls.
Speaking to PTI, the 42-year-old activist highlighted the inconsistencies in the BJP's approach to Hindu unity, claiming that while they use the Maratha community for political purposes, they ignore their legitimate grievances. Patil asserts that Marathas, being the largest Hindu caste in Maharashtra, will wield considerable influence in the upcoming elections.
Patil's remarks indicate a growing tension within the state, as various social groups, including Marathas, Dhangars, and OBCs, demand their due reservations. He has claimed that these unresolved issues will result in a strong backlash against the current government, urging Marathas to unify and ensure their voices are heard in the electoral process.
