Uddhav Thackeray, president of Shiv Sena (UBT), faced scrutiny from election authorities for the second consecutive day as his campaign trail led him to Latur district in Maharashtra. His bags were inspected both on Monday and Tuesday, sparking debate on the consistency of election protocols.
Videos released by his party on social media documented the inspections, with Thackeray questioning officials about why he was singled out for these checks. He engaged with the election staff, requesting details about their names, postings, and appointment letters.
Addressing the apparent double standard, Thackeray cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Maharashtra, demanding equal treatment for all politicians. Authorities later confirmed that nothing objectionable was found in Thackeray's luggage.
