Nation Honors Fallen Hero: The Legacy of Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar

In a poignant ceremony, the mortal remains of Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, who lost his life in a clash with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, were laid to rest in his native village in Himachal Pradesh.
Naib Subedar Kumar, a resident of Barnog village, served with distinction in the 2 Para (Special Forces). His death in the Sunday's gunfight, which also injured three commandos, has left his family and the local community grief-stricken. His seven-year-old son, Parnav, lit the funeral pyre as the village echoed with chants praising the martyr.
High-ranking officials, including Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan, joined thousands to pay their respects. Reflecting on the loss, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri expressed their condolences, pledging that the state will remember Kumar's supreme sacrifice with gratitude.
