Trump's Justice Department Transition Team Sends Warning
An attorney aiding President-elect Donald Trump in forming his administration warned U.S. Justice Department employees about potential terminations if they resisted his agenda. Mark Paoletta, leading Trump's transition team, asserted that resisting staff would be undermining democracy and could face disciplinary actions.
An attorney working with President-elect Donald Trump to organize his incoming administration issued a warning to career employees at the U.S. Justice Department on Monday. He cautioned that those opposing the Republican agenda could be dismissed.
Mark Paoletta, part of Trump's Justice Department transition team, stated in a post on X that career DOJ employees who do not support President Trump's program should leave voluntarily. Those who engage in 'resistance' against the President's lawful agenda would be seen as undermining American democracy, potentially facing disciplinary measures such as termination.
Paoletta's post was a reaction to a Politico article highlighting concerns from Justice Department attorneys about a second Trump presidency. Trump secured a second term last week, despite previously clashing with DOJ employees during his tenure, notably over issues like the Russian collusion investigation and controversies involving Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.
