Acharya Pramod Krishnam, former Congress leader, has openly criticized Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge over his recent comments targeting Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Kharge had derided Yogi's divisive rhetoric of 'batenge toh katenge' at a Nagpur election rally.
Addressing this issue, Kharge later condemned such language in a Jharkhand rally, branding it as typical of terrorists. He questioned the suitability of a religious leader like Yogi, donned in saffron, employing such combative speech.
Krishnam responded by suggesting Kharge's remarks reveal an antagonism towards Sanatan Dharma. He argued that Kharge's stance is inappropriate for Indian political discourse and urged for respect towards Hindu saints and symbols.
