The intense campaigning for the Vav assembly seat bypoll in Gujarat's Banaskantha district concluded on Monday evening. Senior leaders from both Congress and BJP made final attempts to attract voters, with the election featuring a triangular contest.

Congress candidate Gulabsinh Rajput, BJP's Swaroopji Thakor, and BJP rebel Mavji Patel are the main contenders. The bypoll, scheduled for November 13, follows the resignation of Congress MLA Geniben Thakor, who won this year's general election from Banaskantha.

Prominent figures including Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Gujarat Congress in-charge Mukul Wasnik have rallied in the area over the past week. The constituency remains a traditional Congress stronghold, further heating up a three-way fight in the polls.
