Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed discontent after election authorities inspected his bag upon his arrival in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, for campaigning.
Dismayed by the scrutiny, Thackeray raised concerns at a public meeting about whether senior officials' bags, including those of PM Modi and CM Shinde, receive the same treatment.
The former chief minister denounced the exercise as undemocratic, urging fairness and equality in bag checks for all political figures during electoral campaigns.
